- Zora Drempetic was born on 1 August 1927 in Bela Palanka, Serbia, Yugoslavia. She was an actress, known for Ciganka (1953), Gajtano mori mome (1971) and Selo bez seljaka (1970). She died on 2 May 2013 in Belgrade, Serbia.
- Rajko Mitic was a Serbian football player, coach and a journalist. He was born in Dol, Bela Palanka, Kingdom of Serbs, Croat and Slovenes. He started his football career in FK Kosutnjak. In May 1938, he was transferred to BSK Belgrade, where he played until WW2. After the war he was one of the founders of a new football club - Crvena zvezda. He played in Crvena zvezda for 14 seasons. As captain, he won five league titles (1951, 1953, 1956, 1957, and 1959) and four national cup titles (1948, 1949, 1950, and 1958). He won two silver Olympic medals with Yugoslavia national football team in London 1948 and Helsinki 1952. He coached Yugoslavia national football team that won silver medal at 1968 UEFA European Championship. Rajko is one of the most important figures in Serbian football history.
